There is an Issac Palmer slave owner of Lexington, Laffayette County that ends up dead at Iuka so its not him....

There is Thomas Palmer 24 y/o from Bates County Mo who was in prison in 1864 after being captured post deserting 1st Regt MO Cav in 1863 so not likely him...

There is a John N Palmer who is listed as being with Slaybacks Regt surrendered at Shreveport LA of Morgan County. He's a bit long in the tooth at 45 and was sent "home" after Corinth "disabled" but ends up in LA... go figure.
