"Rebels Cove" was the home of Henry Clay Dean who was a prominent Iowa Copperhead who relocated to Putnam County at some point after the war. He was a famous orator much admired in his day. Mark Twain called him the smartest man west of the Mississippi. Dean had a giant library which was lost when his house at Rebels Cove burned.
One of Dean's books was "Crimes of the Civil War" which I have. It is rather dull except for the chapter on his arrest and incarceration in Iowa.
