The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

State Archive's MAJOR new online resource

This morning I got a message from Lynn Morrow at the Missouri State Archives providing notification that reels upon reels of "Union Provost Marshal Papers, Two or More Civilians, 1861-1867" have been digitized and made available online. I can not emphasize enough just how HUGE this is in regard to Civil War Missouri research. Here's a big pat on the back to the people at the Archives (and the Secretary of State's Office for providing the resources to undertake this project) for the work they do, and for making it accessible. I know that I, along with a large number of users of this board, will be spending a lot of hours utilizing this resource.

Here is the link to the reels: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/provost/provostPDF.asp
