Actually I hadn't seen this one until now. Thanks for letting me know about it. In Chapter 25 of Hildebrand's autobiography he speaks of having nine men with him, going up to around Dallas (Marble Hill), and killing a Dutchman during the general time frame discussed here. He and his men afterward went calling at the house of a friend, feeding their horses, and getting refreshments. I am going to have to study this report more closely to see what more, if anything, I can sort from it. I imagine there are additional such reports to be found hidden away in the provost marshal papers. Looking forward to searching through them.
