Re: August Dolle
In Response To: August Dolle ()

August was born in France, the family having arrived New Orleans from LeHavre in 1843. In 1850 census, he and his parents were among only 20 French immigrants in Franklin County. Their neighbors were a volatile mixture of German immigrants and old families from Virginia and Kentucky, and Clarinda Sullens' widowed mother was born in Georgia, so August was sort of between a rock and a hard place!
