Thanks for the cudos.
Thanks to a very generous friend in Houston, TX, I am able to search the 19th century newspaper archives of the Houston Public Library. Unfortunately, they aren't open to everyone, because a library card is necessary to gain on-line access...I am very thankful to my friend sharing his access. The papers contained there have been a tremendous help in my steamboat research.
I will continue to properly credit the sources so you can use them with confidence that they are transcribed exactly as written in the articles.
