Ken: It is one and the same man. William M. (or N. in some records) Quarles was the ensign of the 3rd MO Inf Regt, CSA. He was wounded at Corinth, MS and Kennesaw Mountain, GA. Post-war he practiced medicine in Richmond, Ray County, MO, his residence at the time of his enlistment.
