Hi Keith,
Great research! From what I gather Bigham was right about Jennision being somewhat less then an honest citizen. Gen Halleck didnt seem to be a big fan of Jennison by wanting the 7th Kan to be out of Mo ASAP. From what I gather from Wikipedia and another site Jennison did not suffer punnishment for his crimes. Yes he lost command of the 7th Kan but a year latter he was given command of the 15th Kan and yes he was courtmartialed in 1865 at a time when the Union army was rapidly downsizing affter the CW ended. Apparently the stigma of being courtmartialed was not enough to keep Jennision from having a sucessfull post war political career.

Was Jennision a brave and able leader of the 15th when it fought against Price in 1864? Why did Jennision die at age 50 which seems a bit young even by 1870s standards? Its understandable that Jeneisson was recalled to military service since with the majority of Union forces in GA, Va and with Banks in LA Gen Rosecrans had to accept help where ever he could.

Thanks;
Leonard
