Dallas Morning News, 11/17/1918--Four Brothers Who Met At A Confederate Reunion--The Witcher Brothers (includes photo)

Bells, TX--Nov 16--One of the most interesting groups of ex-Confederates at the reunion held in Tulsa, OK, a short time since, were the four Witcher brothers who met for the first time in twenty-four years. All were veterans of the Southern Confederacy. Two of the brothers served throughout the war, while one served two and a half years, and the other a little over a year. Two of them escaped from prison. An older brother who saw service is dead. The oldest of the brothers is 79, and the youngest 72. They are natives of Virginia, coming from Pittsylvania County. Their father's name was William Witcher. These four brothers are J. C. Witcher, Sherman, Texas, who was with the Eleventh Texas Cavalry under Joe Wheeler: A. M. Witcher, Liberty, Texas, who served with the Sixteenth Cavalry under Walker: W. C. Witcher, Bells, Texas and R. E. Witcher, Childress, Texas, who were with Bourland's Regiment, Texas frontier service.
