Noting there is no Cave County, I rechecked:

* This could also be read Cavl or Cavalry Company. The 'e' could well be an 'l'. However, the 'e' is the same size as the 'e' in James.

** In this case the last letter looks like an 'e', not an 'l', i.e., "Cave"

I'm of the opinion that it reads Cavalry Company.

I suggest you obtain his records, two files, through the service noted in the Red enclosed box above such that you can verify the data and hold hard copies in your records.
