In a report to General Sanborn from the Commanding officer at Cassville, a Dr. Hart, acting as a scout and spy for the chief of scouts at Springfield wrote about having been sent into the confederate lines in Arkansas to find out information on shelby and Marmaduke which the good Doctor apparently did quite often. Does anyone know of this man and if so who was he? Also, do we know who was Sanborn's Chief of Scouts at the time, as I recall that Bill Hickok was working the area at the time.
