Thank you so much for your help, Dr. Russell. It's obvious you took a lot of time on this and I appreciate it. Is there any reference for the 5th Cavalry, 2nd Division, MSG that might list Cpl. Baker? He is, by the way, definitely my ancestor because his service as a corporal in Co. A is noted on his tombstone. And the 1880 census includes his daughter, Maud, my grandmother, whom I never met. She died in an accident in 1912, when my father was 3 years old. I have a family tree on Grandfather John and I'm pretty sure his father was William M. Baker. Again, thanks much. Joe Darby.
