Yes, as Bruce suggests, John F. Rucker, the one who was considered a notorious guerrilla, and John Fleming Rucker, the one whose bio appeared in the History of Boone County, were not the same person. The former died a year or two after the war and is buried at Rocheport, while John Fleming Rucker, from Sturgeon, went on to a distinguished career after the war. Very confusing because they not only had the same name but also the same rank as Confederate majors and were both from Boone County.
