Mr Russell,

Thank you for replying to my message re Salt Pond Road. I have found part of the map in question but may have to wait until my next trip to find a library that will show the rest! I assume you have a copy. Would you say that the road looks like a set of steps at any point? Although I have seen it described as such, the section I have seen certainly does not resemble steps. Also, and this may be a silly question so I apologise in advance, would it have been possible to cross the Tabo before the bridge was built? At any time of the year? The entire area sounds very wet to me - the Marshall Republican of May 30 1913 states the road was 'a terror of the oldtimers and many are the tales of wagons and carriages mired in bottomless sloughs.'
Also, does the road on the map you have seen pass through Sweet Springs? I ask because when I put SPR into Google earth it asked did I mean Lexington Avenue, Sweet Springs? It seems at some time SPR was called Brownsville Road. I believe that was a former name of Sweet Springs.

Thank you once again for your time.
