I contacted our family historian (my aunt), she did not know what year John Wink disappeared. Based on my limited knowledge of the Civil War in Brunswick, I think it was later in the war, 1864 or 65. He never returned, so there is no tombstone. What Union units garrisoned Brunswick during the war? Any unit records or histories? I have reviewed the Chariton County History from that period. No luck. Thanks.
