I'm trying to find information about my gg-grandfather
John Baker Hinds. He is listed on an 1861 McDonald Co tax
list and is marked as serving in the Confederate Army.
This agrees with family history gathered by my
g-grandmother.

John was born in 1837 in Madison Co AR. He was in McDonald
Co MO in 1860, in Madison Co AR in 1865, and then back in
McDonald Co in 1867. He also lived in Newton Co MO
briefly. I don't know in which of these counties he
enlisted, but I would guess McDonald.

John's first wife was Nancy Burnett. She died in McDonald
Co in 1904. John then moved to Washita Co OK and married
Susan Taylor. He died in 1927, and Susan died in 1942. I
don't know if John or Susan ever received a pension.

Our name is frequently misspelled Hines, so my John may be
listed as John B Hines on records.

I'd like to know at least what company John served in. Any
additional information would be great.
