Couple of quick corrections--in 1861 the Louisiana Independent Red Rovers was attached not to the Pike County Home Guard, but to the 5th Missouri State Militia Six Month Militia (Fagg's), which was the direct successor unit to the Pike County Home Guard, and direct predecessor to the 10th Missouri State Militia Cavalry. (The Missouri State Militia Six Month Militia organized in September 1861 is not to be confused with the Missouri State Militia organization that was organized in December 1861).

And the final moniker for Rice's company was the Kill Devils. In the link I provide in the prior post I erroneously referred to their nickname as being the Four Mile Deadshots. That moniker belonged to Company K, 3rd MSM Cavalry, which was closely tied to Rice's Company in the latter months of 1864.
