"Swamp Fox of SE Missouri”

A look at Jeff Thompson and the Civil War" with Wayne Klinckhardt

Join us on Aug. 25, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at the Bollinger County Museum of Natural History, for an exciting look at the life of General Jeff Thompson, notorious "Swamp Fox of SE Missouri”. Well known author of "The War for Missouri", Wayne Klinckhardt, returns to the museum with an all new program to give you an up-close look at the life of this famous Confederate general who was in charge of the rebel forces in Southeast Missouri in 1861. Wayne will give you a glimpse into the life of the man, General Jeff Thompson, and present a chronology of Gen. Thompson’s movements and activities (raids, etc.).

Admission to museum: Adults $2 and 18 years and under $1

If you haven't been to the Bollinger County Museum of Natural History, in Marble Hill, Missouri.... you, the wife and kids will enjoy it.

They have Missouri's ONLY Dinosaur on display. When you click on their website, the orange colored dinosaur is the one that was found. That orange photo button is actually a small photo of the HUGE actual display of the dinosaur on the second floor, inside the museum. Also, they have fossils, and a pretty neat Civil War era case dispaly.

These are great historical progams that the museum brings in historians from a multi state area to present. Glen Bishop of southern Illinois has been there twice and gives an excellent program.
