Ok you unit guys help me out. Reading through the post returns from early 1862 from "Post at Hudson MO" for Col Dan Hutson of the 7th Mo Cav. I find a number of entries for officers tagged "late of the Black Hawk Cavalry". From where and what does this arise? Is this a Union Indian regiment? There are references to manning the block house on the railroad as well as out on scout and out recruiting. Curious.
