Shawnee Mound or Milford, on Blackwater, December 18. Hudson December 21 (Detachment). Assigned to 7th Missouri Cavalry February 20, 1862

William Bishop, J. T. Buell, J. L. Chandler; Majs., A. H.
Linden, M. H. Brawner, David McKee, Eliphalet Bredett, H. P.
Spellman.

This regiment was formed by the consolidation of the battalion
known as the "Black Hawk Cavalry" and Capt. Louis' company,
under an order from the adjutant-general's office, dated Feb.
20, 1862. Five days later Cos. A and B. mounted, and attached
to the 22nd infantry, were transferred to the 7th cavalry. On
March 7, 1862, two unattached companies were added to the
regiment. . . .
