I have a reference to a Heckart and Whitlock Mill located somewhere near Marshafield, apparently held by a party of Confederate Troops until Marshfield was secured by Union troops Feb. 9, 1862. The Mill was burned, though not sure by whom. Where exactly was this mill? It is safe to say it was a grist mill, though am uncertain.
