John Bohanon of Bohanon's Mill

In a recent search of records of Mills in LaClede Co., Mo., I recently uncovered a small item in the 'Rolla Express,' Dated December 16, 1861. In Column Two of page one, under 'Items of Interest', is a small paragraph about the above named individual viz.: 'John Bohanon, prisoner of war at St. Louis, died in that city, December 3. He was the propietor of Bohanon's Mill, near Lebanon, and taken prisoner soon after the massacre of the Home Guards at that place. His mill was burned before his eyes to prevent further grinding of secesh flour. He was captured by Capt. Walderman, of Sigle's Division.' Questions follow: Who was John Bohanon and where 'Near Lebanon' was his Mill? The same newspaper gives a listing by name of Casualties sustained at the Salem Affair on December 3rd which seems to have been Home Guards as the editor, C. R. Walker, gives only company listings. I am not sure what was meant by 'massacre of Home Guards at that place,' was there a massacre at Lebanon?
