I'm not a unit expert, Jim McGhee wrote the definitive book on confederate units in the state and lurks here abouts so he can tell me if I'm all wet, but I think the 11th Mo Cav Missouri State Guard turned into Livingston's unit or at least a bunch of the guys came from it and the 11th Mo Cav CSA (1862 formation) was a unit that may have had roots in the MSG unit but was in essence a new unit with the same designation. It happened a lot and we have new and old units and re-designated and reorganized units all over the place.
