Michael Banasik has transcribed and published three volumes of the series "Tales of the War" from the mid-1880s Missouri Republican. So far the books deal with Confederate material for the years 1861, 1862 and 1863 in the Trans-Mississippi.

He plans on doing the Union accounts in later volumes.

The books are available from Camp Pope Publishing in Iowa, and Amazon. He does not include articles that have already been published separately, such as the memoir of BG James Harding of the Missouri State Guard, which I edited for a booklet several years ago. The books are full of interesting and important accounts.
