Family donated his pistol to Missouri State Museum. They stated he served with the Confederate side, but no record found. He was a St. Clair County Justice in 1861, and was murdered in 1863. I was wondering if he might have served with the Missouri State Guard and the family interpreted this as Confederate. I'm not familiar with MSG history in that area.
