Here in NE Missourii it's a perfect place for Rebs to hide. It's all hllls and hollows. It probably doesn't look much different than it did in 1861. There may be a county sheriff but nobody knows his name.. There is State Police but God knows where they're located; if you called them, they might get here day after tomorrow if they could find it. So you are the law, like the wild west, like Jesse James and Belle Starr. If somebody decides to squat on your property, you might have to chase them off with buffalo guns and dynamite. You can do whatever you want wherever you want and nobody cares. By state law you can run a still; i haven't done that yet but i have a good place in mind and a long coil of copper tubing....
