I realize that this is a very old thread, but I think I may know where you can find some information on MSG records.
I visited the SHSMO Research Center in Cape Girardeau today and found a lot of information on the First Division of the MSG.
They have the James E. McGhee Civil War Research Papers in their archives.

For the First Division the officers and rosters are listed in the same manner as McGhee used in his book:
Guide to Missouri Confederate Units, 1861-1865

One piece of information on the center in Cape Girardeau, they are moving from their current location to Kent Library at Southeast Missouri State University.
