This from the Western Journal of Commerce, October 8, 1864--

"MURDERED SOLDIERS--Privates Martin Graves, James Thomas, Thomas Goodwin and Serg't Claib Thompson were murdered on the train at Centralia. They ware all members of the old 25th Regiment Mo. Vol., now called the 1st Mo. Engineers. They were on the way home to their families from Atlanta."
