Actually, the wrought iron gate entrance to the cemetery within a cemetery says "Confederate Dead." At least 322 Confederate dead are identified up through 1863 burials, at which time Federal forces seized the area. It appears record-keeping for Confederate burials ceased being made at that time. If any records for Confederate burials exists, it might be contained in some other sort of Federal bureaucratic records. For Confederate burials through 1863 at Maplewood see:
