Milroy Biographer's Comments
In Response To: Re: Gen Milroy papers ()

In 2006 a heavily-researched biography on Milroy was published, "My Will is Absolute Law." I've ordered it to follow its sourcing and see if anything jumps out on the executions of the Centralia 13. I also contacted its author, Jonathan Noyalas, and asked him if anything about our guys rings a bell. Here's what he said: "I haven't run into anything specific to the event you mention, but it is not at all surprising. I write a bit in the book about how irregulars, bushwhackers, partisans, etc. were dealt with in Tullahoma by Milroy. Milroy was certainly aggressive in dealing with them. It's been a few years since I've read it, but I'm wondering if Lorien Foote's Rites of Retaliation offers any additional insight?"
