I found no record of John H. Tabor in the 17th MS Inf, but I did find William F. Tabor who enlisted in Company D, the Rough and Readies of Marshall County on 27 May 1861. He was single, living in Holly Springs. He attained the rank of 1st LT, and was wounded at Malvern Hill and Gettysburg. He retired from service in December 1864. Is this man related to John Tabor?
