I have been researching for sometime my 4th Great Grandfather Zachariah Newcome. Zachariah enlisted at Buchanan, Virginia about March 1862. He is listed as sick in April 1862 and died at "Camp Van Dorn" June 1962. This is what information I have been able to find.

I doubt that he ever saw any action.

I have tried to find out some information about "Camp Van Dorn" during that period but can't seem to find any information.

I am not very knowledgeable about the Civil War but would very much like to find out if it is possible to find out where my GGGGfather might be buried.

Some direction on where to search would be much appreciated.
