Gainesborough is mentioned in a letter from GS Lea to his father HM Lea in Amite County on Oct 26th 1863 from Chattanooga. George mentions hearing from his brother TM Lea who was on detached duty hunting deserters and conscripts at Gainesborogh Miss. TM Lea was part of Capt EA Miller's company, 24th Battn.Cav.

A letter from TM Lea to HM Lea also mentions that he is near Gainsborough in Novemebr 1863.
