Our direct ancestor was John Milton Williamson of Union/Lincoln Counties, NC. John Newton was the son of the John Milton above and Salina Tye. my contact on this family is Ted Williamson - e mail Tedford@gmail.com. I have the info on the entire family...back a couple generations. Ted, above, is descended from the youngest son of John Newton, Earl Guyton Williamson.Ted has a web site with lots of information...However, neither of us knows what units J N served in or what MS unit his brother James D Williamson was in. I can send you what I have, I even have a picture of John Newton that Ted sent me.

The wound to his ankle/foot from the CSA was his demise. He refused to have it amputated and gangrene set in and he died in 1909
