My ggrandfather was born around 1872 and mentioned things about the Civil War. Could someone please tell me what a kid in North MS would have witnessed during the 1870's to the 1890's. There is a family story he told about being at school and the soldiers going by. I'm trying to figure out what he was seeing. He talked about having really hard times.
