Simon Jeremiah Boyd

I am seeking information about my great-grandfather, Simon Jeremiah Boyd, born about 1812 in Union County, So.Caro. He was in Monroe Co., Miss., by 1826. He married and had a large family and died on 02 February 1862 according to information in Green Thompson Roberds family Bible. Simon was a member of CSA, 1st Battalion Miss. Guards. One source says he died of wounds/illness while in CSA and was buried in Confederate Cemetery at Okalona, Miss. A check of that cemetery did not include Simon, but am told that there are about 400 unknown Confederates buried there. Any help in locating a burial place for Simon, other information/suggestions, greatly appreciated. Jim Allen.
