ATTN: 7th MIss. gang

Ron, Mitch George... did y'all get me email concerning...

McGallian. John Jefferson Pvt.
Company H
Note: listed as "McGallon, John J." on regimental roster
Note: Joined Moorman's 24th MS. Cav./Company B
Father: Thomas McGallian

Note: Filed for Mississippi Confederate pension
Source: Bruce McGallion (Descendent)
Buried: with spouse in unmarked graves in East Hill Cemetery, Roff, Oklahoma

I sent y'all a copy of the original letter from Bruce McGallion with some more information in it. I know Ron will want to add the letter to his notes on the enhanced roster. I haven't recieved any mail from y'all in 4 or 5 days.

Ron, I visited with Virgil tonight in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He and the family are spending the weekend there so we drove up to watch the firworks with them etc. He gave me a copy of the E.T. Dunn letters. Should I post one, some, all or none to the website? Just browsing them I see where he wrote from Chattanooga while a P.O.W. The letter states he was captured at Munfordville. Any idea how he ended up in P.O.W. camp when the Union garrison surrendered itself. Virgil said they probably shipped him out during the night after the first days fight. Would this indicate that maybe the Union fort still had communications with the outside and felt secure about their chances until Bragg showed up with reenforcments?
