Just a note, guys, there is a new book out by Circuit Judge Robert G. Evans from Raleigh, MS entitled "THE 16TH MISSISSIPPI INFANTRY, Civil War Letters and Reminiscences" published by University Press of Mississippi. It contains the correspondence and eyewitness accounts of eighteen members of the various companies of the 16th, from muster into Confederate service at Corinth, to the surrender at Appomattox. It is an unusual and very interesting book, and definately worth reading, particularly if your ancestor was in the 16th, as was mine, having organized Company B (Westville Guards).
