Take the Bovina exit off I-20 (Exit 11; before you cross the Big Black). You will have to take three right-hand turns to get on Old Highway 80 going east, paralleling the interstate. In about a mile(+) you will cross the Big Black over a steel frame bridge. A couple of hundred yards past the river bridge there is a small place on the left you can pull over and stop. The land is under cultivation. That's about where the Confederate lines were, extending to the left to near the river and right past the railroad to Gin Lake. You should go back across the bridge and turn left on Warrior Trail. This will take you shortly to the railroad bridge. The old bridge is long gone and was slightly downstream from the present bridge. You can see pilings at low water.

If you like, contact me if you plan a trip and I would be glad to meet you there.
