Does anybody know whether any names of men returned to their regiments by the 6th Miss. Inf.when it was detailed to patrol and re-establish order in Smith and Jones Counties etc., were ever returned to General Polk and reported in any records? If so, are their any published or compiled records? Does anybody know of any 6th Miss. records subsequent to the retreat to Jackson after Champions Hill?
