Looking for information on John Scott, b. 1823 AL or TN, found in 1860 census Pontotoc Co., MS Tocoppoli P. O., with wife Virginia and children W. J. or James W. and Martha A. John and Virginia Wair, Waite, or Waits were married 1855 in Pontotoc County. I have not found John Scott again in any records so I think he probably died during or shortly after the Civil War. I would really like to find his records if he was indeed in the war. I would appreciate any help. Virginia was born 1830-1836 SC.
