Re: Another Lookup Request

Jim: Sorry about that! I don't get the chance to visit the site as often as I'd like to; too many other irons in the fire!

(1) "Capt. William A. Rogers 2nd (4th) MS Cav Co C." Co. C was the "Lauderdale Cavalry." Mrs. Eliza A. Rogers filed for a Confederate widow's pension in 1924 in Lauderdale County. In that pension application, she stated that she was the widow of Wm. A. Rogers. She did not state his unit of service. I do not find him in MS CS Graves Registrations.

(2) "Pvt. C.M.A. Rogers 2nd (4th) MS Cav Co C." Not found in MS CS Pension Applications. Not found in MS CS Graves Registrations.

(3) "Pvt. Peter A. Rogers 2nd (4th) MS Cav Co C." Not found in MS CS Pension Applications. However, found in MS CS Graves Registrations as "ROGERS, P. A. 2nd MS Cav. 1842-1913 Laud Laud," which means that he was born in 1842 in Lauderdale County, MS, and died in 1913 in Lauderdale County, MS.

See www.mississippiscv.org, "Research Help," then "MS CS Pension Applications and Graves Registrations" for more info on these records.

Wish I could have helped more! -- Jim Huffman, 43rd MS
