Jim Thank you for your response. Since you do not have him on your Miss. Confederate burial list then it is possible that the man here in South Carolina is Pvt. Brady.

I can not find anyone by this name in the CWS&S site in S.C. Nor can I find him in any of the local histories so it is possible that he moved here after the war.

Here is what I have from the tombstone:

John Toliver Brady born: June 12,1843 died: April 16, 1935. He is buried in "New" Bethel cemetery [which is across a road from "Old" Bethel cemetery. In the town of Woodruff in Spartanburg County, S.C.

The local Spartanburg newspaper did an article on the remaining Confederate Veterans in the county in 1910. He did not show up in the article so he may have moved here after that date. I will try to get the state death certificate information and see if it has anything more on him. I also am going to attempt to find an obit for him. If I learn anything eles I will post it.

As a side note I have confirmed almost 80 Confederate veterans buried in this cemetery. There are several more that I think are from other states. Jim Crocker
