I am researching a Lt. Jesse Ball, 38th MS Mtd Infantry, who was killed at the subject battle, July 64. Family history says that he and Evan Dennison were buried in the same grave. They also indicated that this grave was in the Pontotoc cemetery. I am from Dallas and have not been to Tupelo or the cemetery. I am curious, does anyone know of documented mass burials after the battle and are the graves marked of the fallen soldiers? I will make a trip up there if I have a chance to locate Lt. Ball's grave. Thanks
