Concerning tracking down what became of Lt. Harmon after he was taken to Richmond following Gettysburg, and other wounded for that matter who were taken to Richmond, check out the website for General Hospital #9. It appears that the wounded were first sent there and then distributed to other hospitals in the Richmond area. The site mentions records in the National Archives on General Hospital #9 including soldiers who died or were discharged, sent to private quarters, furloughed, etc. This source might be a treasure trove on those sent to Richmond after Gettysburg and all of the other battles in Virginia during the war.
