Fairfax Washington is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery (note: not Shady Grove) in the McKnight family plot. He was wounded in the Battle of Iuka and was cared for by the McKnight family until his death a week or so later. He has a headstone at Oak Grove Cemetery which is located in Iuka, it is the largest cemetery in town. I have quite a bit more information on Fairfax Washington, provided by Mrs. Irene Barnes our local historian. She did quite a bit of research on Fairfax Washington and published some of it. I should be able to find the information about him within a couple of days, it is quite interesting. Thanks! Judith Walker
