Dear Mark
I have been asked to speak at the memorial ceremony next August 7th, as Magnolia Cemetery which is part of the battlefield. Lt. Zacharia Causey as you know was killed in the battle. I have found one of your cousins that lives in Clinton, La. I have been asked to speak only about the actual battle. I am hoping to find people to attend the memorial that have actually had ancestors that were at the battle.
I have also found a descendant of a physician, private J D. Cauldfield, Liberty Guards, 22nd Mississippi, who was mortally wounded in the battle. I found his ggggrandson.
Lt. Causey is burried in the "pit" along with sixty or seventy other Rebels killed at Baton Rouge. There is a marker for him next to the pit.

Thanks
TR
