McLain for 3 years or the War, recorded as "Absent, sick in hospital" October 30, 1862, the following muster recorded as "Died Oct 20, 1862," his widow, Mrs. E. Temples filed claim for his pay, allowance & effects, this amounted to $40.33 pay and $25.00 for clothing
