The parole paper in your hands should state the soldier's military command, if any. I can't guess what a Confederate soldier from Mississippi would have been doing in Arkansas at the war's end. Does the parole actually use the word "trooper" or "tropper"? Does the reference to Mississippi come from his residence stated on the parole?
