grave of Isaac Newton Womble

INW was born and lived his early life in Franklin Co, AL.

He was a cadet at LaGrange College, Franklin Co, AL 1860-1861.

There are muster cards for William Amos Womble and Isaac Newton Womble, brothers, enlisting at Pleasant Site, AL (together) on October 1, 1863 for 3 years. WA as a 2nd Lt., and IN as First Sergeant. Both in Co. F, Moreland's Cavalry. The unit was organized Aug, 1863 in Russellville with men from Franklin County. It later was attached to Roddy's Brigade.

The 1900 census has him in Lafayette Co, MS, Beat 5.

He died Nov 21, 1900, supposedly at London Hill, some three miles north of Paris, MS. However, I have yet to find his grave site.

So, my questions are: (a) where is his grave site, and (b) how do I find a record of where he may have applied for a pension. I suppose a corollary to that is, when did MS start the pension program?

Any help is most appreciated.
